Psych:9

The genre of psych:9 is horror/thriller. The audience can tell this from the fast past shots and their content. the trailer contains many shots and conventions common with the horror genre, such as a bloody handprint, a girl running, the audience is made jump with a scene from the cctv, lights go out, shadow in background are just a few. the soundtrack to the trailer is fast paced drums that speed up towards the end then suddenly stop. The inter-titles talk about nightmares being real and are also voiced over by a gruff voice. The name of the movie comes up twice in the trailer at the end and said only once. The trailer does not mention any actor, awards or director suggesting it is a unknow low budget film. the distributer is the only company mentioned but are not well known. The trailer picks out 2-3 main characters and shows the audience the female is the main protagonist/final girl. The trailer shows the begining of the quest a diagetic sound is heard from a radio about a man attacking people, the woman going for a job at the hospital and showing her later in trouble.

The Crazies


The genre of the trailer is shown by zombie type people. We see general looking zombies and the audiences history of films allows them to almost instantly guess the antagonists are zombies. We see blood and weapons often as well as the city in ruins.
The Crazies name comes up once at the end, no mention of actors or director but two companys are shown. the central character seems to be the male police man and the woman. Both are seen on their own in important situations. Other characters are shown such as other police officers, doctor and alot of zombies. The trailer shows the equilibrium of the film, a small town in the start of spring everyone happy then once the "crazy" is shot everything starts to change. THe trailer has no voice over just inter-titles and dialogue from the film. Music starts around half way through and all other sound is removed. The song is mad world by Gary Jules, a very depressing song. towards the end a high pitched sound is added that gets higher and higher towards then end before stopping suddenly.

The Genre of the movie is shown by the the dark apartments and the its residents. The name of the movie comes up at the end but no voice over. the trailers main sounds are the fast paced talking and screams. it relies on the presumption that the audience has seen the first one and realizes they are sending in a clean up crew to kill the infected. The film doesn't mention any actors of directors. The trailer shows the beginning of the film of special forces well armed going in it then shows how everything is going wrong. This makes the audience want to know how things went wrong. The trailer mainly shows three special forces characters but assume their not that important because we see alot fo them die or appear to die.
