This is my mood board which expresses what I like to see in horror films.I find hallways with shadows and low lighting very effective as it's hard to see if its friendly or not. The use of shadows can be done really well such as in Nosferatu and the clown silhouette from Stephen Kings "IT". They look human but little parts give away that somethings amiss. Two of the images show eyes (or lacking of),this has the ability to be relativly easy to film, is not overly gory but can make the audience wince at the idea. "The Mist" has a awesome atmosphere because you rarely see what is out in "the mist" It gets the audience interested because we want to know what it contains. It's also like your missing out because everyone else is looking at something. The door with blood coming out is great as well, we know something horrific is happened and they've been dragged off but we don't know what has done it or where they can be. Kids being somewhere they shouldnt has an effect on the audience. This is because we know it's a horror film so somethings different about this child, it could also be that at that moment the audience assume this child will turn into something "evil" when older. In past horror films the antagist usually has something bad happen in the past to turn them into what they are so showing a kid in bad places suggests this could be a turning point from innocence to "evil"
